Restaurant Twenty-Two is the debut restaurant of husband and wife team, Sam Carter and Alex Olivier. The lovingly restored Victorian townhouse backs onto the River Cam and Jesus Green and is home to exciting, modern British dining. The menu changes often depending on what seasonal produce our Cambridgeshire partners have delivered. Our wine list is diverse and designed to perfectly complement the bold flavours on the menu. The restaurant was awarded 3 AA Rosettes in September 2022 and it’s first Michelin Star in March 2023.
The restaurant occupies a quaint Victorian heritage house, with stained glass windows nestled into its brickwork that date back to 1892. Located in a historic corner of Cambridge, just off the River Cam on Jesus Green, the restaurant is in the perfect location for a leisurely lunch after a stroll (or punt!).
By night, its atmospheric candlelit dining rooms offer a special space to enjoy inventive yet fulfilling food for all occasions.
Sam’s menu is inspired by his many years working at Michelin level at some of the country’s top restaurants (Hambleton Hall and Maze by Gordon Ramsay to name only two). But the real inspiration comes from the ingredients delivered each day. We use the best local suppliers and present a regularly changing menu that reflects the most seasonal produce the area has to offer.
